Carb Cleaning

Hi there, just took the carbs off of the bike to give them a thorough cleaning. Problem is, i've never done it before. Just wondering if anyone is willing to do a write up on how to clean the carbs properly. Including things to watch out for and things it would be worth while doing while the carbs are out. Also mentioning how to tune the carbs would be helpful.
