So I opened up my Carbs today, and surprisingly everything was really clean! (Good for me). So I was trying to put back the carbs together and I ran into a problem at the end where the diaphragm goes in. When I put the whole set up in the diaphragm doesnt go all the way in, so if I try to make it flush with the seat the diaphragm wrinkles. What am I doing wrong?

Just make sure it seats well on the outer edge where it sits on the carb. There is a little tab somewhere that should go in its slot.other than that....maybe your diaphragm is toast?

Your fine. Looks like ones that haven't shrunk much. When they are out of the carb do they still have the ripples in them?

No, the ripples happen because if I don't ripple them , the diaphragm sits too high and above the metal.

Does the slide go all the way down? Your diaphragm looks like it's new or has little use.

Here is what a set that I have looks like. These are old diaphragms from 1980.
