Does anyone know how many turns the fuel mixture screws are suppose to be turned out? I'm refering to the two screws on the front of the carb not the idle adj. screw. Thanks
Actually it can be 1.5-4 turns. 2-3 is just a starting point for a stock bike. The more you get away from stock everything can change inculding jet size and slide needle postion.
There isn't an exact number that works every time. Check this thread out: http://www.xs400.com/threads/carb-cleaning-carb-tuning-links.13321/
The "Guide" is not specific to our bikes but most of it can be applied. There's a section in there on setting the mixture screws.
Ok fair enough just thought you guys would know off the top of your head......just need a starting point cause I'm pretty sure the last guy that was in my carbs did not know what he was doing. Would be nice to have it close before I hit the road for tuning. Thanks
