So while I was messing with my high idle issues I noticed a couple things about my carbs. Judging by other peoples pictures on here it looks like I'm missing a jet/screw? Up towards the top cap of the carb. Its the same on both sides. Should I start hunting down these things? The bike still runs, albeit rich. And second question. The right right carb has its fuel line running into the boot between the engine and boot. The left one runs into the side spout thing. Which one is right? Pics for reference provided. Sorry that they're mixed around.
Sorry if my questions seem a tad basic or odd, I'm a carpenter for a living, not a motorcycle mechanic!

The 80-82 sohc carbs have a recessed pilot mixture screws. Find out what they are set at. Your intake boots look bad and should be replace + new gaskets. The line on the back of the petcock goes the the right air barb to operate it. The other larger hose goes to the carb for fuel( which I think you must already know:))
