1980 400, do I have contact points? I checked above the left spark plug, and in the enclosure is a black banana shaped object.

that's a small black banana from the tropics. they were put there as an incentive. bit like free toys in cornflake packets.

I changed mine today $25.00 used and 11om's if that helps. Although I have a 78, 400.!
