do i need the boots

i just purchased pod filters for my 80 and i was wondering if i need to use the air filter boots because they fit on the boots but not the carb

Using the boots will work just fine lots of people have done this including me

Drewpy (and xschris) use this method. It seems like a good idea because it allows you to use the standard breather. It's how I intend to do pods when the time comes.

Someone have any pic of this method?My filters are soaking with gasoline and i need to replace them.

But it seems the youcant have battery with this set up.

I use a 1.2ah gell battery. All of my electric start stuff is gone(even the starter clutch) I have been using this setup for 2k miles with no issues.
