Hey guys need your opinion on whether or not this spark looks to weak? see video

Also I replaced the spark plug wire with 7mm copper core wire and kept the same caps, don't know if I have the 5ohm caps or not? I order new ones 5ohm from Mikes because I read on the forum that if you have a TCI system you should use them to protect something...... does that sound about right?

Also one more noob question but what does TCI stand for?

Are you running a resistor plug? If so you should use a non-resistor cap. Make sure you have a fully charged battery. The spark plugs look a bit fouled may want to replace them or clean them. The spark should be a bright blue. I find the ngk iridium (bpr7eix) with a non-resistor cap works very well. TCI transistor controlled ignition.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PAIR-OF-NGK...torcycle_Parts_13&hash=item51c6c25cf2&vxp=mtr Resistor or suppression plug cap where designed to reduce radio interference back in the day. A non-resistor has no resistor in the cap. The stock sohc xs400 came with a non-resistor plug and a 7-9k ohm resistor cap. Going to a iridium plug with a 5k ohms of resistance in it already and a non-resistor cap take a bit of resistance out of the system. The iridium plugs make a better spark and holds up much better than a standard copper plug. http://www.mikesxs.net/product/50-5944.html If you buy an iridium plug get them at your local auot parts store as they will be much cheaper than mikes. :wink2:

Looks like ill try and return the caps I got from mikes, do those NGK Iridium Spark Plug BPR-7EIX have a screw off top? I ran into the problem of them not fitting into the caps? Or will they fit into the ngk caps?

They have screw off tops.
