I’m about to start up my XS360 motorcycle and the engine hasn't been fired up for several years. New wiring, ignition coils and contact breaker have been tested/fitted by a professional motorcycle mechanic:)

Are there any special things that I should know before starting the engine expect for petrol, gear in neutral etc? For how long should I soak the carburettor before pushing the start button?

All you’re experience will be highly appreciated, thanks:thumbsup:

If you've already changed the oil, filter and plugs and made sure the battery is charged you should be fine. Neutral, clutch out. Choke out, prime the carbs, then crack the throttle a tiny bit and give her a go. If that doesnt work, then prime the carbs again and try it with the throttle closed. That electric starter makes it a lot easier to start after a bunch of work. Make sure your battery has plenty of juice too. And if that doesnt work take apart and clean your carbs a few times.
