7 Months later after obtaining a $50 1979 xs400 I finally completed it, (sort of)
And took it for its first RIDE, TONIGHT!

I figured id make a new post here, without all my retarded replies, and questions.
I had absolutely no idea what I was doing getting into this, but this site, the users, and a few homies helped me make it happen. Actually never would have happened without the this site. Thanks to Wolfe_11b pointing out my original frame was bent.
also major thanks to xschris for your patient and knowledgable replies. as well as drewpy for pretty much answering everyone else problem I encountered along the way.

All in all it could have been done quicker, but lack of knowledge, money, and time it took a while.

But I cannot even tell you how hyped i am to have ridden it and actually finished it. You guys rule, thank you.

I like it! Good on you for saving it instead of parting it out. With the frame the way it was, a lot of people would have parted it. I think you did the right thing.

I think my next build will be a hardtail, if I can find a cheap enough donor soon

Looks great, especially considering it only took 7 months. I don't think you need a poll to validate your efforts :)
