firing on only right then left!?! Please shoot me now!

I got a '78 xs400 and first was running good on both jugs, then for no apparent reason it decided to only run on the right. So I adjusted the valves, which were in spec, and static timed it, gapped the points, put in new plugs, wires, caps, coils and condenser. Put it all back together and now it's firing on the left cylinder! No spark on the right... So my wife and I are about to kill each other over this ongoing issue cause I've got 2 little kids and no time, so please someone HELP!

What kind plugs did you use.I have had brand new ones be bad.Especialy the NGK`s.If your bike has been flood while tring to start it get a new plug

Yeah it was the points.. they weren't gapped right and needed a good cleanin! She's runnin pretty good now.
