forks lower tree won't grab the threads

so i came up on a new bike and it was missing the wiper covers on the forks i slid the forks out and now the bolts on the bottom tree won't match up with the threads. Any solutions to this

Did you pry open the clamp? It sure looks like it!

You are going to have to squeeze the clamp closed a fair bit to get the bolt to line up with it's hole. Make sure to have the bolt threaded in a couple turns before you try to tighten it, or you will pull the threads out and have bigger problems.

no i just loosened them up went to stick them back in and nothing lined up. how do you think i should go about squeezing those clamps

A "C-clamp" would probably be the easiest thing to use. If you don't have one, then you will have to improvise...

They look to be opened up a lot more than they should be.
