gas tank fix

bought a extra tank off eb*y to paint to match my bodywork so i wouldnt have to paint the org. good idea right? well the tank came today and is rusted thru ( it leaks)a few holes no more than a 1/8". any body know of a product which will fix it from the inside? i didnt pay that much for it and dont feel like going thru any agro. thanks, tom

If it's rusted through, there is no easy way out. I think you may as well cut it open, clean it and weld up the holes.

Having it welded sounds stressful, but it's really just another name for high temp steel soldering. It's easy for any welder to cut out and remove the rusted bits and weld in the new sections. if seams need rewelding, also easy. Don't stress.

Find a local welder and ask if they've got experience with motorcycle tanks. It's no drama. Seriously.
