Hi guys,

I have an on going bobber project and after a re-doing the stator wires I finally got the machine running. I took it for a short ride and it "electrocuted" me through handlebar levers. It was like high frequency tingling feeling instead of a massive shock. Could it be that the charging current from stator is going through the frame? I checked with multimeter's beeber mode that the wires I reworked from stator are not connected to ground. Does rectifier or regulator need to be grounded? Help appreciated!:banghead:

What voltage are you seeing at the bars? My guess is something is shorting to ground, probably at the control switch (the switch grounds through the bars). Check it with a multimeter set to DC. If it was the AC from the stator you'd have more issues than a slight tingle lol, so I'd look elsewhere.
