Hello all,
My name is John and I am from Chicago. I just picked up a 1979 xs400 with 7900 miles on it. I can get the bike to fire up and idle normal while on the side stand, but once I put the bike upright or lean the bike to the right the idle shoots up. Also the seems to be more presure comming from the left side exhaust, and the left exhaust gets much hotter. I tried adjusting the air/fuel screws 3 turns out on top of the carbs and messed with the throttle stop screw. I am not sure what the throttle stop screw does. I also get popping out of right side exhaust. Any help for this newbie would be greatly appriciated.
