Without getting into the funny details, on my ride home last night I lost my shifter pedal. In order to limp home i had to put vise-grips on the stud, in essence destroying the splines. So i came up with 2 options, getting a stock foot shifter hammering it on and putting a few tack welds on so this doesnt happen again. OR go wicked old school and put a hand shifter on. Has anyone done a hand shifter on an XS or ridden a bike with one that can comment on how it is?

Here is mine

Operating a hand shifter is not that difficult on a small bike. The shifter is not a problem, however. The foot clutch is the hard part. It has to be set up so that it is not too touchy or unforgiving, which may take some frigging. You could also do a hand clutch on the shifter, but to me that is a quite a bit more difficult.

01ps, got any close up pics on that setup?

Volcom, same here. Also planning on a jockey shift mod. No great idea yet though. :)

Here you go.
