Hello from Germany...

Hello hardtailed77,

thanks for the welcome.

Nice bike you have anda lot of other nice bikes here in the forum.

Outside germany there are a lot of customed XS400-Bikes. It's amazing, here in germany it's hard to custom a bike, because every bike who drives on the street have to insist the german TÜV - German Association for Technical every two years.

Welcome to this site. I am from Germany but came to the USA over 30 years ago. I'm sure you will add considerably to this site. Currently I own an xs400gs ( in addition to
a BMW r1200R). I enjoy working on the xs400. My project is to "customize" the bike. ( not a restoration). I will probably take the bike appart and start from scratch. Perhaps you can assist me along the way with some advice.

Welcome Dirk,

Just realised it was Gigavolt who did the ignition, Dirk, is Anton stil around?

Hello from Germany too......

Another electronic ignition wich i use on two xs 400 is available by www.helotronik.de

But keep in mind that u had to use two of that boxes.... one for each cylinder.

Hi...

yes, Anton (Gigavolt) did the electronic ignition with breakers some years ago.
Anton has sold his XS400 3 or 4 years ago and i think he didn't work on it.
I'd last seem Anton on our Meeting in 2007 (http://fotoalbum.xs400.net/main.php?g2_itemId=6256&g2_page=1)

The technical information about his electronics is on the xs400.net Site:

Hi Dirk:) so now we are in the usäiii

Anton gave his permission to use his idea of the ignition as "opensource" last year......

@cturek

thanks...

I live more in the west of germany. But on our german forum are a lot of drivers from the north. The last years we had a lot of meetings in north germany. Nice to see, but there are no curves and hills. :D I live in the triangle of Westerwald, Eifel und Hunsrück, very hillocky and a lot of curves. That's the reason why i don't drive choppers.

If anyone of the forum-members here came to germany, please tell it to us. I think it's great so meet anyone of you here. :wink2:

hillocky
who said the germans had no sense of humour, made me laugh, nice one Dirk

I was thinking of attending your meeting this year but its a long way!
