I purchased the JBM diaphragms for my 77 and they went on perfectly and don't spin.
However, the JBM website and several threads on this forum say the hole at the bottom of the slide needs to face the engine/butterflies.
However, BOTH of my original factory diaphragms were aligned (using the "key" in the diaphragm and matching cut in the carb) with the hole facing almost 90 degrees clockwise from where everyone says they should be. See illustration below.
Should I replicate this with when I reinstall the slides? Or did something happen over the years/rubber shrinking that caused the slide to rotate on the diaphragm?
Any advice would be appreciated!
