How does this bike sound?

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy my first bike. I found an old 83 maxim 400, and I really like the look. The seller has posted a video of the bike running, and I'm curious how the engine sounds to more experienced ears. Here's the link:

I also noticed some rust where the chasis attaches to the rear wheel (pic attached). Is this something I should be concerned about? It's got 13,781 miles, and is going for $750.

never be scared of rust, especially on something a dealer is reselling. at worst, it's always repairable. and it sounds fine! i'd say that, any bike you like (and for less than $1,000) is a great first bike. i spent 2k on my first bike, i remember well!
