My rear caliper will lock and stay locked unless i knock on it with a rubber mallet. I pulled the caliper off and couldnt figure out how to get the piston out, can someone shed some light on my problem? tnx for the help btw guys

Most likely, rust will be your culprit. Did the bike sit for any lengthy period? There are caliper rebuild kits available from many places online that you can pick up. As long as the piston isn't pitted, you may be able to give it a good cleansing though.

I would go ahead and spring for the rebuild kit. They don't cost much, and it more than likely needs it done after sitting that long anyway. Just my opinion though.

yep, rebuild the rear brake cylinder as well.

brake fluid is hydroscopic which absorbs water, then rots the internals.

you can get(or get made) stainless pistons I have them in all mine :D

Pulled it apart. There was crusty brake fluid. Lubed it and cleaned it up. Put it back together and works great. Tnx guys
