id my vin?

Could someone tell model number for my xs? Vin is: yja16m007da061030. Tag is worn off but I think its 5/82 for the year. Is it dohc or single? Is this model electric start only or does it also have kickstart? Any info would be much appreciated as I cannot seem to figure this stuff out on my own. Thanks!

Any pics of the bike? I would say it is a dohc because they stopped making them in the us
in 81(82 model year)

Well, something does not seem right about that VIN....but what I can tell you is that a kick start lever is a dead giveaway that it has kick start...and is a SOHC, because DOHC did not have kick start. Likewise, if it has no kicker lever and no place for one, it is a DOHC because all SOHCs had a kicker.

Thanks for the feedback! The VIN is totally throwing me too, ithas a whole in the left sideof the tank I thought could be a where a missing kicker lever went, but It doesn't look right to me. Pics coming this evening. Thanks again for t

Typed it in to a vin search engine, says its a 1983 xs400r. I'm just guessing that's the seca. Now I need to figure out how to get my hands on a good manual. Any leads? Thanks alot guys, all info is appreciated!
