Info air filter Xs400II special

I have some cheap pods to change because it is giving me some problems ..... for those who have a yamaha xs 400 II special (European version): can you give me directions whether to stay with the stocks or mount foam ipods? and if anyone has the schematic since I don't have the h-pipe

Both the OEM filter media type and the balance tube are calculated to induce CV carb slides to lift quicker. That carb type actually likes a bit of restriction which pods make disappear. The slides then open slightly slower exposing the fuel mixture exit to higher vacuum thus altering the effective jetting, they usually go rich. Rich then slows slide down even more, CVs like slightly lean to open up at the fastest rate.

Since this box model is not illustrated in the manuals, would anyone know how to assemble them?

The US market shows two different configurations there (using Partzilla catalogs) and that is not one of them. I could only find an ebay part and very expensive. Seller in Germany.

Yes , from insights the filter box is the same as the xs250
