Kickstart

Hi wverybody, 1980 xs400 special. Does anyone know if you can kickstart it with the kickstand down? Thanks alot, have a great day!

I have a 81, no Kickstand safety. various other posts seem to indicate 1982 may be the first year for a kick start safety. I do have a clutch safety relay. Hope that helps, should be indicated in the manual for you bike, like to think that evolution, that if a 81 doesn't have it, then a 80 wont have it either.
