I did a re-jet on my carbs because the slip-on mufflers I installed have almost no baffling. I took the pilot jet up to 45 and the main jet up to 140. I also got some basic pod filters on the h-pipes. Upon re-installation I set the petcock to prime for a min as I read to do. This must have been a mistake because the carbs just leaked everywhere. This may be due to not having a proper seal with the gaskets. I am trying to fix that as we speak. I was just looking for some guidance as to any other issues that might be occurring that I don't know about. I'm a novice, just learning as I go. I may need to adjust the floats but I'm not sure how or to what level given this re-jet. Also, I noticed steam coming out of the filters and the holes connecting the carb to the cylinder when I removed the card. Not sure where that came from Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hmmm,

I took the pilot jet up to 45 and the main jet up to 140.
from 42.5 to 45. There is alot of reading available, that will solve these questions

I also got some basic pod filters on the h-pipes.

Nope, not a mistake, just a clue to what is wrong. Since there is no identification of what bike you have, My BS34 carb has a plug that seems to be missing from your photos. 3F7-14991-00-00 http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/yamaha/YP-3F7-14991-00-00.html
If you haven't read these, you might find this helpful. Remember, Yamaha didn't have the propriety rights, so other brands used them, same for the petcock, ...

There is a about a 3 mm float adjustment, or did you mean the actual float adj. I seem to remember 27mm. That should be listed on all three of the aforementioned websites.

Just take your time, clean them well. Remember Air leaks can be on either side. I had used the silcon repair tape for ensuring the carb boots didn't have a air leak.

Where did they leak out of?

If it leaked out of where the bowl bolts onto the bodies then you just need new gaskets which you can make out of a cereal box.

If they leaked out of the carb mouth into the air filters then you're float needles were either stuck open or not seating.
