Hello everyone,

as i was cleaning every tiny bit of my fuel valve i accidentally ripped of the
membrane in it. i noticed how it was glued on one side. ofcourse i tried
reassembling it without gluing it back together but with a leak as a result.

i have searched this thread : http://www.xs400.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8033&highlight=fuel+valve
for answers but i couldn't really find something about a glue being applied in order
to prevent leakage. did i miss something ? is there a glue for this ?

I would just get a rebuild kit and replace it all. You don't want to wake up in the morning and find it has failed and all the gas in the tank is on the ground or in the crank case.:wink2:

+1 on what chris wrote...
I had a leaky petcock on my XJ 550 once. Teamed up with a stuck floater which managed to let all fuel run through the carbs into the engine.
