Lean idle mixture=Higher idle?

Adding pods might make the mix leaner, depending on what pods you get and how much air they transfer...

The chances of you buying pods and them balancing out your mixture problems are slim, but if the problems are really a symptom of a larger problem all you're doing is avoiding fixing something now that you might have to replace or fix later when the problems gets really bad.

How do you know its running TOO rich? and maybe try adjusting the idle mix screws, check to make sure your enricher circuit works as it should, maybe you need to adjust your needle jet, or pilot jets, or main jets... There is a lot that can go wrong in those carbs lol

Too rich could be too high a float level. Could be a lot of things. Could be poor compression from bad rings, scored cylinder, too tight or badly seating valves, etc etc etc.

Don't correct symptoms, find and correct problems. Correcting symptoms instead of addressing problems is a task already held by the government. :D They didn't invite you to assist.

Mixture screws primarily affect closed to about 1/8-1/4 throttle. On CV carbs, the range is somewhat fuzzy, more defined in slide needle carbs.

The chokes in these carbs aren't chokes, which cut off air to end up with more fuel. Instead, they are actually additional jets and circuits that add more fuel, everything else stays the same. The plunger that you operate to put the choke "on" actually allows these additional jets and circuits to be active. If someone blasted everything with aggressive and strong carb cleaner, the rubber part on the bottom of the plunger that is supposed to seal the "choke" circuit off during normal running may leak, causing the engine to seem to run rich.

Thank you very much for the compliment.

I am in the business of correctly resolving problems, not symptoms. It is very tempting to try and offset(fix) the symptom. But in the end, it is both better and cheaper to actually fix the problem. Otherwise, you'll be back, and next time it will require more resources and cost a lot more.
