well the regulator has the 2 rubber bushing on it so i wouldnt think it would be that and the rectifier is that square thing right. hat like a ceramic coating. i also wounldnt think that....

The regulator on my 78 has bushings; it is originally mounted on the battery box. The rectifier has fins and is more like a box.
It may not be the unit itself, but the wires attached to it at some point on the harness.

i think i just have a bad kill switch.... think ill try to wire it up to a differnt "new" one insted of using an old one off my oliver

wasent the kill switch was my points that had some gunk inside the contacts causing it to ground out?
