Missing tank bolt

I think the previous owner of my bike was chasing every bit of performance boost he could get. Why else would he have got rid of heavy items like tank rubbers and bolt.

I know where i can get some rubber that should do the trick but I don't know what size the tank bolt is. Can anyone help me?

I believe it is 8mm. Mine was missing too.

Mine on the '79 was also missing. Went to my spare bolt stash and came right up with one. Don't know the size, though. Sorry. You should be able to find one easily at a Lowes, etc or even a good hardware store.

This bolt also uses a large fender washer on my '78. Possibly also a locking washer, but I forget offhand.

Yep, had one of those around. Drilled the hole out to proper size to fit bolt.
