XS400 New Member
Just picked up my 78 xs400 2-e last week and wouldn't ya know... the engine went.
Someone thought it would be a good idea to improperly install a helicoil to the right spark plug, thus, leaving debris in the cylinder, stoping the piston, and sending the rods through the piston.
Can't see myself trying to rebuild an engine for the first time, especially if there is as much damaged throughout as I think there is.
So my question is, does anyone know of a working 400 motor for sale anywhere (I live in Savannah GA)
Is there any other year model 400 engine that will fit my frame?
(i know I'm going to regret saying this) But what about throwing a say Honda 400 motor in there.
I love the bike and really don't wanna get rid of it(its my first).
Please help!
