Oil filter cover bolt - Is this it?

Rounded off the bolt while trying to take the cover out, whoever replaced it last over-torqued it and now I have to replace the bolt.

Would it fit our bikes? mine's a '77 by the way.

Looks to me like it should fit. But be sure to check your oil filter housing. Many on here have found issues with their housing where it has cracked in the area around this bolt. The housing is not easy to find and they also aft as a sort of cooler for the oil. Look for spider like lines radiating from around the bolt hole usually caused by over tightening. If you're lucky & it's intact be gentle when you replace it and DONT over tighten it.

might be larger as I got an oil; cooler from an xs750 and it was a bigger version of ours.
There's a few around, get the part number and google it

I looked up the part on a linked parts manual somewhere else in the forums

$25 on amazon and $20 on ebay.
You bet I wont ever over-tighten it.

Okay sorry for the spam but I kept on researching to make sure I was indeed looking at the right part number (the photo above is from a '82 manual) and then came across this site:

It shows the parts manual and their prices which is very neat (but they sell the bolt at $66~)
