Ive noticed that I have an oil leak coming from behind the points cover, does anybody have a link to a parts diagram, or a schematic so I could see what seal it my be, and to get a part #?
thanks
There is an oil seal that rides in the end of the camshaft where it exits the cylinder head cover. It keeps the oil that lubes the camshaft, valves, rockers, etc, out if the points compartment. Here is a link to that part (it is number 11 in the drawing).
The good news, if I recall correctly, is that you can replace it from the points compartment by just removing the points assembly. Once that is done, you will have exposed the end of the camshaft and the seal in question. Best to check the manual for the procedure, of course.
