The state I live in does not require turn signals so I opted for taking them off in the front of my '81 XS400. Now that I did this the electric start won't work. When I turn the key on my neutral light lights up but the electric start won't fire. Is there a possible ground I removed that is tied into the starter when I pulled those turn signals?

Make sure you check in the headlight bucket where you disconnected the wiring for your signals. There's a rats nest of wiring in there & all of it comes together there. You may have disturbed a connection inside. Have you tried to kick start it?? That would be another possible problem. If it doesn't kick start either you may have loosened the ignition switch wiring. Some of those connections get loose with age. Good Luck!!!!
