Problem, possibly electrical?

So last night I replaced the fuel petcock and lines, and got her to start. I shot some starting fluid into the carbs and she started right up. As soon as I let off the throttle the revs dropped and the lights dimmed until the engine shut off in about 2 seconds. I recharged the battery and now I don't even have power when I turn the key to "start". Any ideas as to what might be going on? Might not even be an electrical issue but it's definitely got me scratching my head. It's an '83.

The first place I'd check is loose connection at the fuse box...and if that isn't it, I check the ground path and pretty much every other connection. I ended up replacing my fuse box and a myriad of problems were solved.

Thanks for the advice! Sure enough, I blew the main fuse. I thought I was smart enough not to miss something that small haha. Got her running off of starter fluid, so I'm going to check out the carbs when I get a chance to see how those look. Thanks again!
