question between ds7 and xs400

anybody know how close the ds7 forks and xs 400 forks are? I have an extended set from an old ds7 I was thinking about rebuilding and using on my 400. thought I would ask in anyone knows if the forks would fit in the 400 trees or if the whole trees would fit the 400 neck before I tear the 400 apart to try the fit.

I wanna say the ds7 forks were 34mm and the xs400 were 33mm. Anyone verify?

What year? Which model? My Maxim has 35mm fork tubes, just like the XS650.

its a 81 drum brake model. the ds7 forks are a guess. I was really more interested if the trees fit. just kinda wondering on this which way I want to take the bike.
