Rear drum cover question

Is there supposed to be a slight wobble on the cover to the hub? That’s what I’m experiencing after a rear tire change. Thanks for any help. Bike is a 78se? Wire wheel, drum brake.

THe part that contains the drum brakes and springs. I think the axle centers it.

No it should not have play in it. Make sure you have all the spacers and the axle nut is torqued to 75 lbs.

I meant play just setting it on with the wheel removed from the frame. The axle centers the brake drum assembly.

Yes it will move if it's not on the bike and torqued down.

I went through that when assembling my bike. Thought it was messed up but once it went together everything was cool.
