While browsing my favourite torrent site I found a torrent with info on XJs but thought it might be relevant to XS'. Maybe Drewpy can review and chime in.

Either way, with the bikes being 30+ years old, I'm sure this might help someone who has a bad TCI.

On the few TCI bikes I have worked with just resoldering every joint on the circuit board fixed them.
I have read of others changing diodes and transitors. I would start with the resolder, then if it still has trouble then start swapping in new parts.
Diodes first, then Transistors.

we have a supplier in the UK called rex speedshop who specialises in TCI's and he's a member of the Yam owners club forum!
