The greasey fingers build :)

Cheers spindat, I always fancied a polished metal tank, but all my tanks have had repair work done to dents in them so wouldn't work so well :( Otherwise I would definatly look at that as an option. Anyone got any cool ideas for a paint job? I still have no ide what I wanna do yet

Here she is with a few more parts bolted on. I just want to try and get everything to flow, if anyone has any suggestions that would be cool. I have realised that as soon as you put something on, it changes the look of everything so I guess maybe its not really possible to get things to look right until the motor is in and exhausts etc, to get a proper idea of how its going to look overall.

What kind of color were you thinking of? I have a friend who has a downhill mtn bike painted Cadillac sts white. It's the pearl white and have always wanted to see a bike painted that color. Lol

The bike is really coming together nicely! One suggestion would be to get different mirrors. I feel their height detracts from the overall look. Bar-end mirrors would look better in my opinion.

Damn I want your wheels ^^

Yeah mirrors are a hard one, I also thought bar end mirrors but when they were on they just didn't seem to look right, I didnt like the way they sit on the end of the handle bars for some reason(I did mount some but took them off). Heres a pic with bar end mirrors...what do you think?

Not sure at all on the color Richie, I was thinking just black which is safe and a bit boring I guess. I wouldn't mind something a bit different. Is Cadillac sts white like a pearl white?

Hmm I see what you mean...
http://www.bikeexif.com/build-scrambler-motorcycle this might be a useful read, talks a lot about the lines in a custom motorcycle

Definatly look better mounted like that, but still not sure if its the look I want

Put the engine in and mounted rear fender...

cheers levdir :) Im actually reasonably happy with how the rear fender turned out I was a bit worried about it when I was making up the struts and drilling it. But worked out all right

Spray painted the modded battery box and put it in. And put on some supports for the seat so it doesn't bend out of shape. This way hopefully it wont sag on the edges and go to crap over time from sitting on it. I got some little rubber feet and made some spacers from solid tube, tapped some screw holes into the top of the frame and bolted them on (tapped the threads before it got painted). It seems to do the job! So far the seat has mounted up nicely and is really secure.

Havent updated this for a while been busy, anyway im doing the R1 blue spot caliper upgrade and made up the caliper mount myself after looking into CNC prices :yikes:

So I bought the raw material, a sheet of 10mm thick 5083 plate alloy. I was lucky enough fellow member jray leant me his adaptor plate to copy, thanks jray! Traced out his adaptor plate and mounting holes onto the plate alloy sheet I bought and paid a guy $25 to plasma cut out the basic shape to save me hours hack sawing.

Then I cleaned it up with a 240 flap wheel on an angle grinder and shaped it further to get a more refined piece. Drilled out the mounting holes.

After that I gave it the old wet & dry polish, 240 to 320 to 400 to 800. Then hit it with the white polishing compound bar on a buffing wheel and job done :bike:

What caliper and rotor model bike did you use? Also what is the scale percentage for the template in the pdf.
