tire pressure

At 155 pounds weight, I run 28 psi. You don't want to go too high or you narrow the contact patch and actually reduce traction. Also, the sidewall should flex a little to help absorb road irregularities. Some folks run high pressure to increase tread life but, personally, I feel that is not safe. Just my 2 cents.

Yep, all tires will have a max safe pressure rating but that is not the pressure at which they should be operated under normal loads and operating conditions. Lots of folks are confused by this. Been down this road of discussion numerous times in the past on many different types of vehicles. Folks don't seem to understand that you actually decrease handling safety by over inflating a tire - and I don't mean above the max rating - more than necessary for the load it carries. If your weight is greater than mine, you would bump up the pressure a couple few pounds. Even if you ride two-up most of the time I'm not certain you need to go all the way up to max.

27.5psi front and 30.5psi rear on stock size tires and I weigh 170lbs
