What to do with the basket case?

OK, picked up a '77 basket case xs400. Looks like all the parts are there even a set of Shoei Hard Bags and Fairing. But the engine is toast... taken apart and one of the pistons has a melted hole on top. Anyone need engine parts? Clean title ready to be made a sombody again.

So, I've got another '81 xs400 with great engine that has title issues and neck scar that obscured the VIN. I can do that transplant easy and have another cafe xs400 on the street. 38hp...

I'v also got a great running Kawasaki Ninja 500 engine with wire harness and all goodness needed to run. Looks to fit if I'm careful with the water cooling component placement. I'd need a week to get that transplant done and have a frankenstien halfbreed with 60hp.

What to do?

ninja 500 in the bike with the neck scar and the 81 engine into the 77 frame. keep the top case of the junk motor just in case.

That would be alot of work for an unusable beast. Can't street it due to DMV, and don't think they'd let me put it on the track....

So one vote for '81 400 enine.
