What year is my engine

Hi guys me and a mate are building two bobbers and would love some help on trying to find out what engines year and model we have my number is *406.005537*
His is 2A2-007662 please

Thanks drewpy great help got my mates engine numbers sorted and found out that my engine has a xs250 se crankcase going by the engine numbers but it is still a 400 didn't know that was possible has anyone else came across this? trying to find pics of the different types of primary covers and alternator covers to get a match once again my northern friend. yep its common, especially when the 250's were learner bikes
