I made a similar joke on a Mercedes Forum some time ago and got a not so nice response. Some of those guys take themselves too seriously.

I hear you, years ago I had the same response from the Porsche community as well. This is a hobby and few are pros. It is trial and error in my opinion.

good thing it was just a side cover.. forgot the cam chain tensioner first go around.
i can take that thing apart like a wild man now though haha

its ok. you dont really need it. i left mine out. ya know to shave weight. i took out both tensioners. also ended up with an extra chain, cog, and cylinder like thing with wires coming outta it when i bolted the engine together lol
