I have this dirt bike fender metal of course. The portion toward the engine hugs tire just right but it gets narrower in the rear. Question is if i lay it on a wider tire and lay a sandbag between the metal and a dead blow hammer would that keep me from denting it up. I just need to widen or flare the back half mabey half inch or so

If you have a bench vice, you could try wrapping the rear portion of the fender in a towel, then "squashing" it in the vice to flare it.
This has worked for me in the past.It can also help to get some heat into it first to make it more pliable.:wink2:
You could even heat it then flare it by hand if the metal is not to thick?
I use a blowtorch with MAP gas cannister for heating,as it burns hotter.
HTH?

Thanks for the info I used the vice on the edge and pulled on the other side. Then I went to work with body hammer and anvils. I might have a bit of smoothing left after I strip the paint. Ill put some pics up this evening under my other thread.
