Widest possible front tire???

Okay XS400 Guru's....how wide of a front tire can I fit?? Not gonna run a front fender. I'm thinkin a 120 should fit. Am I right????? Also if anyone has pics of wide front tires on your XS throw em up here for inspiration!! Thanx!!!!!!!

Most guys run a 90. But there are a few running a 100-110 and thats pushing it. A big tire will fit but its not gonna handle worth a damn. Personally I wouldnt go any more than a 100 out front.

Handling isn't much of a concern as it's just an in town bar-hopper...just wondering what will fit between the fork tubes

Im sure a 120 would fit between the tubes, but I wouldnt ride it. lol thats just me though

LOL...maybe I'll go with a 110, I got a 130 on the back so I want pretty wide on the front..kinda that "exile cycles" look.

cast wheels or spokes?

I run a 100/90-18 on the front of my xs400.

Mine is on a spoked wheel. Stock was 18 x 1.6", and there was no way I would have put the 100/90-18 on it. It would have been pinched really tight on the rim, so I relaced a 2.15" rim to the stock hub. If your wheel can handle it, you can probably fir a 120 in there with no fender. With a fender 100 is the widest. I've got like 1/4" clearance all round.

you will want to check the manufacutres specs on the tire as a 120 is many different sizes for different companies. also check referance to rim with 120/80 , 120/60, 120/70

I mounted a 110/80/18 and 130/90/16. A 120/80 would fit the forks and a 140/90 would fit the swingarm no problem
