Hi

My name is Linh

I am new here

Just bought an XS400 for restoration and I noticed that when engine runs the carburator is over flow and some petrol is dripping out

How do I fix this please

Thanks

Welcome!

Constant fuel flow is mostly due to sticking floats in the carb.

First, turn the fuel flow off. Then remove the drain plugs on the bottom of the carburetors and catch any fuel that flows out. Next, remove the fuel bowls which exposes the floats.

There is a slide pin that you can gently remove and that will enable the floats and needle to be removed. Your floats could have a hole in them and thats why they arent working. Or they could just be stuck.

You could do it like how I mentioned above and you might be fine, but I suggest removing the carbs off the bike as it makes working with them a lot easier and you should make sure everything is nice and clean.
