    After Market Options

I have 1978 XS400. The front brake caliper was rusted stuck. I was able to free it up, rebuild and replace the piston. It still leaks. I am looking for another, but am interested in after market ideas. Scott

Stuttering Between 5000 and 6500 RPM

Tail pipes are new, but new gaskets end to end. Carbs were disabled, dipped, and blew out. New plugs. Fuel flow is good. --- I am going to check compression next, but this bike sat for years. I am wondering if there is not a grove in the cylinder from lack of movement.

This bike has only 6000 miles, but it sat for years. Since picking it up I have completed the following 1. Complete disassemble of carbs, 24 hour chemdip soak, new needle and float valve. Left Cylinder Running Cold

The problem was the petcock diaphragm was stuck. No fuel was flowing in the prime position. I cleaned the petcock, verified diaphragm was not torn, and replaced the o-ring. Once it was re-assembled, switched to prime and chocked, fired immediately.

    1978 Rear Master Cylinder

I have talked to all the parts places in town, searched the web, called parts houses on-line, and no luck finding a rebuild kit for this rear master cylinder. The SR500 has the same rear master, and I cannot find that one either. I am not concerned about original parts, so I am looking at...
