Thanks guys.
I'm running open pipes and pods. Just changed from some cheapo chinese pods to Emgos. I think my new pods may restrict air flow some more than my previous pods, hence the rich and poor running.
I'll get some more and smaller main jets and go from there.
Thanks again guys.
I just got the XS400 vacuum synced and strobe timed. New oil and new plugs about 35 miles ago.
The problem is it wont pull well at WOT. At low and mid range it runs as it should. At WOT it coughs and looses power. If I let back on the throttle to about mid range, it picks right up and pulls...
Got this figured. I think. Had the frekkin cam sleeve on 180 degrees wrong. Again. One would think one would learn..

Anyone knows how to strobe synch these...

Thanks again.
I need some good advice and input on this one.

Hi Neptun.
Thanks for the kind words. Regarding building your first scoot; get a Clymer or Haynes manual and let it take time.
When I started my CB750 build I had never welded or built a whole bike from scratch either. This XS400 I did while waiting for parts to my CB750.
The search...
Oh - crap. That would be so typical me. By points cam you mean that little "sleeve" that goes on the end of the cam shaft, the one that opens the points yes? The one that goes on before the points plate goes on?
Today I got a set of new points and set them correctly according to the shop...
