The pipes I had were a combination of stock pipes and muffler shop tubing. Or, it could have been an old swing set for all I know. The header wrap hid horrible welds.

Oh, those headers are in the dump already. They were poorly welded, cracked, rusted, etc. Total junk.

It LOOKS like your head pipes, while a little more curvy since they're the Special, end at about the same spot. The P.O. had welded on an upswept extension. I'm looking to see if I can use the stock head pipes and a short reverse cone muffler. Or, possibly, the mufflers I have without the upsweep.

Do you have a pic of what they looked like on the bike? Are the head pipes cut short or right where the stock mufflers would have started?

I need some head pipes or a 2-1 for a '77. I see lots of Special exhausts for sale, but the pipes look different to me....more curved/rounded. My search also showed up something about angled exhaust ports on some models? If I only need some head pipes, what will work on my bike/frame...

He also made up a neat ignition switch holder.... And a bracket for the tail light. The P.O. had used a combination of booger welds, aftermarket tail light, stock lens and hot glue. It all crumbled the first time I removed the seat. This will allow me to run a readily available tail light.
