Looks good. Your not going to use that front fairing are you. That's not a stock part. I also see the fuse block is aftermarket. Your getting it there. Keep at it.

Do you have the rubber seat/frame pads? Those are hard to find in good shape. Hope yours are good.

Thanks guys, the fairing mounts to the handle bars..easy on-easy off if I don't like it. I bought a repro fuse box but need to tap in to the harness. Might do that later. Carbs and motor being gone through now.

Chris, I was mistaken, I don't have those pads. Give me the price and I'll send out the $$. Thanks.

What pads? I may have something as I havent used the factory stuff on the last few builds. I will even almost give them away if I have them..............

There are used only on the 80-82 sohc bikes. Small pad that goes behind the seat front locating rubbers.

More progress. Mounted headlight bucket, gauges (NOS speedo, refurbished tach with 3 1/2 inch O-rings as dampers), rebuilt switches (new XS650 switches and transplanted wiring from originals), side covers and picked up motor and carb from my tech. Next is degrease motor, paint the heads satin black and polish the aluminum. Many thanks to xschris for lots of these parts

Very nice. The tank would never have had a chrome cover on the edges of it from the factory. That must be an after market thing that was added by someone. The rear foot rests should point back on the bike. That was/is how they where mounted stock. The brake and clutch levers should also be black. I see the handle off the brake master is gone. That was a new factory correct yamaha one that I sold you. I hate to point this stuff out but not many people take the time to do a correct factory resto on these bikes. It's nice to see your doing one.
