hey guys I just changed the piston rings in both cylinders and one is perfectly fine but the other is burning oil. I made sure they were put on properly I was just wondering what the break in period is for them around 1000km? After what period of time should I be thinking about redoing my job if it doesnt get better?

thanks!

Did you check both bores to be sure they are still within tolerances? Also, did you hone the cylinders before installation? If so, then you could have a bad valve seal.

I agree with FarmBoy, did you de-glaze the bores? Break-in is about 50 km for modern rings. If you didn't ride it aggressively, with brisk acceleration and engine braking, the rings may not have seated well. Is the plug showing oil contamination or are you just seeing blue smoke from one exhaust?
