Exhaust fitment

Hey guys I would love to buy these turn out mufflers:

but im not sure if they fit the xs400 pipes? does anyone know if they will or not?

It depends on what head pipes you have on your bike. The 77-79 models the mufflers are removable and I think the od on the end is around 1 1/2" if you have the 80-82 model then you will have to cut off the mufflers because they are welded on. If you have to cut then just make sure you cut the diameter of the new mufflers so they can slide on.

oh sorry I didn't mention its a 1981 special. so just cut off old and slide new on?

Yep. Just make sure you don't cut too much off leave enough to be able to make a tight fit with the new mufflers.
