Interchangeable Carbs for my XS400 "Special"?

What carburetors are interchangeable with my 1980 XS400 Special? I'm having trouble finding diaphrams for the Mikuni B34s that are currently installed. I'd rather replace them than try to rebuild them. I honestly don't understand them enough. Has anyone used different carbs and got a good result?

MikesXS sells a set of replacement carbs for the XS400, but according to their website, does require some modification to install. You lose the stock airboxes and filters for one thing.
